Having something original done on your nails is the new trend. Magazines and blogs are full of inspiration. You too, can use your imagination to good effect. Anything goes!
Preparation is crucial. For best results, prepare your nails the day before the manicure. Before bed time, mix two tablespoons of olive oil with two tablespoons of sugar. Massage the mixture into your hands until the substance has dissolved. Then, rinse it off with warm water.
The next step is to moisturize your hands and cuticles by adding a few drops of olive oil to your moisturizer. Slip on some cotton gloves and wear them overnight. When you wake up the next day, your hands will be soft and hydrated, ready for a manicure.
While browsing on the Internet, looking for new trends, I came across a very interesting manicure procedure. So I decided to test it out and share my discovery with you.
It’s called the “caviar manicure.” The name describes it well!
I must say I like it a lot! It is very easy to reproduce. I suggest you follow this simple process to get fabulous nails.
* You can get the decorative beads at the Dollarama or any other crafts store. They come in a pack of six jars in different colors. Choose the same nail polish color as that of the beads you will use. Having the same background color as the beads will cover all the imperfections.
Step 1: Put on a first layer of nail polish and allow it to dry.
Tip: To check if your nails are dry, put your hands under the faucet and turn on the cold water. If the water runs off without leaving any drops on the surface of the nail, this means that the nails are completely dry!
Now you must act quickly. The key is to do one nail at a time.
- Put a second coat of nail polish and hold your finger just over the rim of the lid.
- Pour the beads lightly on your fingernail. The beads will stick instantly to your nails because they are not yet dry.
Step 2: Shake off the excess beads by tapping against the box cover. Then, solidify the application by lightly pressing on the beads.
Step 3: You can then put on a layer of clear nail polish to make your manicure last longer.
Warning: If you use any other colors than the ones shown above, do not use much – or not at all – any clear nail polish. The clear nail polish will only serve to remove the color from the beads.
Step 4: Since you have used the box cover, you can now retrieve the excess of decorative beads and have more for your next manicure.
Good luck!
